Scholarship
A $2,000 non-renewable scholarship will be awarded to a Weehawken resident high school senior attending college full-time in the 2026-2027 school year.
The recipient will be honored at the Weehawken Memorial Day Ceremonies on May 25, 2026, after the annual parade.
Eligibility

The candidate must be a Weehawken resident high school senior, who will be a full-time student at a college or university in the 2026-2027 school year.

Financial need will be considered.

The candidate must pursue his/her course of college study within the academic year of the scholarship grant.

Official Transcript showing most recent grades and official standardized test scores signed by the candidate's guidance counselor.

​One Letter of Recommendation of approximately 200-250 words from a guidance counselor, teacher, coach, organization leader, or employer (cannot be a parent or relative).​

Write a 500-word essay on the following topic:​
Which American freedom or right do you consider most important, and why? Explain some ways you can contribute to the preservation of our American freedoms in your future endeavors.
