Scholarship

A $2,000 non-renewable scholarship will be awarded to a Weehawken resident high school senior attending college full-time in the 2026-2027 school year.

The recipient will be honored at the Weehawken Memorial Day Ceremonies on May 25, 2026, after the annual parade.

Eligibility

  • The candidate must be a Weehawken resident high school senior, who will be a full-time student at a college or university in the 2026-2027 school year.
     

  • Financial need will be considered.
     

  • The candidate must pursue his/her course of college study within the academic year of the scholarship grant.

Required Information & Documents

  • Completed Online application
     

  • Official Transcript showing most recent grades and official standardized test scores signed by the candidate's guidance counselor.
     

  • ​One Letter of Recommendation of approximately 200-250 words from a guidance counselor, teacher, coach, organization leader, or employer (cannot be a parent or relative).​
    ​

Essay

  • Write a 500-word essay on the following topic:​

    Which American freedom or right do you consider most important, and why? Explain some ways you can contribute to the preservation of our American freedoms in your future endeavors.

  1. Online Applications must include all required components; incomplete submissions will not be considered.
     

  2. Deadline: April 24, 2026. Late submissions will not be accepted.
